FPS Calculator Accuracy
Our FPS Calculator provides approximate frame rate estimates based on aggregated benchmark data and mathematical scaling models. Actual in-game performance can vary significantly due to:
- Game patches and optimization updates that change performance characteristics
- GPU driver versions (newer drivers can improve or sometimes reduce FPS)
- Background processes and system overhead
- Cooling solutions and thermal throttling behavior
- Overclocking or undervolting configurations
- RAM speed, timings, and dual-channel vs single-channel configuration
- Storage speed (NVMe vs SATA) for games with heavy streaming
- Specific in-game scenes (benchmarks show averages; demanding scenes can dip lower)
Our estimates are typically within 10–15% of real-world performance for most configurations, but edge cases with unusual hardware combinations or heavily modded games may show larger deviations. Always consult hardware review sites like TechPowerUp, Hardware Unboxed, or Gamers Nexus for tested benchmarks of specific configurations.
PSU Calculator Accuracy
Our PSU Calculator estimates include safety margins to account for transient power spikes, which are common with modern GPUs (particularly NVIDIA RTX 40/50 series and AMD RX 7000/9000 series). However:
- Actual power consumption varies by specific workload, overclocking profile, and component variants (e.g., factory-overclocked GPUs draw more than reference models).
- Our recommendations err on the side of caution. A slightly oversized PSU is always preferable to an undersized one.
- Always cross-reference with the GPU manufacturer's minimum PSU recommendation printed on the product page or box.
- PSU efficiency ratings (80 Plus Bronze/Gold/Platinum) affect actual wall power draw but not component delivery capacity.
GPU Comparison Tool
The GPU Compare tool displays performance comparisons based on aggregated benchmark data from multiple sources. Real-world results depend on the specific game, resolution, graphics settings, driver version, CPU pairing (bottleneck effects), and system memory configuration. Our comparisons represent general performance trends rather than exact benchmarks for your specific system.
PC Builder Compatibility
The PC Builder performs compatibility checks based on publicly available hardware specifications (CPU socket types, chipset support, RAM generation, PCI Express versions). However:
- Always verify physical dimensions — GPU length vs case clearance, CPU cooler height vs case width, and PSU length vs case depth.
- BIOS compatibility (especially for newer CPUs on older motherboards) requires checking the motherboard manufacturer's QVL (Qualified Vendor List) and may require a BIOS update.
- RAM compatibility at specific speeds depends on the memory controller, motherboard QVL, and BIOS configuration — not all kits run at advertised speeds on all boards.
Hardware Recommendations
Build guides and component recommendations reflect our analysis of price-to-performance ratios at the time of writing. Hardware prices, availability, and market conditions change frequently. A component that was the best value last week may not be today. Always check current pricing before purchasing.
Benchmark Data Sources
Performance scores and benchmark data displayed on TechBenchPro are normalized estimates derived from aggregated public benchmark databases, not from direct testing performed by TechBenchPro. We do not operate a hardware testing lab. Our data is compiled from publicly available benchmark results, manufacturer specifications, and community-reported performance data, then processed through our proprietary normalization algorithms.
